The last day of 5; Happy Birthday Jordan!

I can't believe my little boy will be 6 tomorrow. As I was tucking him in tonight, I asked him if there's anything he wanted to do or say while he's still 5, because when he wakes up in the morning he'll be six! He can't even wait to be a big 6 year old, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for his birthday. I remember tucking him in before his 5th birthday and just thinking that I couldn't believe that my little boy was turning 5. That just seemed like such a big number!
His only request was that I surprised him with breakfast in bed; that was a big hit last year and he wants me to make French toast, juice, and something with a candle in it. And he wants to open a present. So that's what's on the menu.
I love my little boy so much and I'm just so proud of him. I know he's growing and he's too big to rock in my arms, but I still steal hugs and kisses from him all the time.. I hope that never changes. He such a neat kid and I love him so much. Happy Birthday Jordan, dear. Your mommy loves you so very much. Here's our birthday boy through the years:

Some catching up...

Valentine's Day!!!
I love Valentine's Day. I always like to make breakfast... Jared always buys me flowers, and we always go out on a special date. My little boys bring Valentine's gifts home from church and school to give to us. We make cookies for friends, there's just so much sweetness going around and it's all so fun.

I took my 3 little Valentines to Chuck-E-Cheese for part of the day:

And then my other Valentine took me out to dinner at Market Street Grille.

And this is how well my hubby knows me. I've never mentioned needing new running shoes, and I really like my Nikes. But he took it upon himself to find a someone who's quite the runner, found the right store, the right shoes, and now I'm all hooked up with some new running shoes! I'm very excited about this - I guess I need an appointment so they can "fit" these shoes. Very cool stuff. I'm very happy and can't wait to try them out. I love my guy. It's not about the shoes, it's just that he knows me so well and he does so much to make me feel so loved and appreciated.

Family Day out in Park City:

Girls Night Out: I always look forward to our girls night and I am so lucky to have these girls as friends. We always seem to turn one hour into two, maybe three... :-)

Boat Show and Joe's:
We always love to go and see Aunt Wee at the Expo, and we love going to the boat show! It's fun to see all the new stuff and start dreaming about warm days ahead...

Can you guess who these kids belong to? Just guess... check out the hair. Then check out the hair again. And then add a few feet (Andrei Kirilenko and his kids were at Joe's that night). And his kids were really nice :-)

Dinner with Tom & Heidi:

Jordan's Day: Jordan described his perfect day and it went something like this: go to lunch with Dad, have Dad drop Jordan off, have Dad pick Jordan up from school, go skiing, and go out for pizza (with Dad). I think we covered it all (and thank you Jared for being the best daddy in the world). Oh, you are so loved!

Happy Birthday Uncle Layne!

Grateful

This cute girl has been on my mind and I just wanted to tell her how grateful I am for her and how much I appreciate her. Not only is she absolutely beautiful but she has the best heart… there is really no one like her and I’m lucky enough to have her as a cousin (more like a sister… I think that’s the best way to describe it). There’s just so much to love… but I’ll name just a few things I love most about my cute little Tif:
1. She’s HILARIOUS, I mean I can’t think of a time when we hang out and I’m not crunched over laughing my heart out, she just makes me laugh, and laugh, and laugh, and it’s all good humor.
2. She has the BEST heart of anyone I know. She’d give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Not only does she give and give, she never expects a single thing in return. She’s amazing that way.
3. She is a self starter and so motivated and I totally look up to her for that.
4. She’s not judgmental and she’s so easy to be around. She doesn’t criticize and I never have to worry about what I say or how I say it.
5. She looks for the positive in everything. She’s dealt with things that no person on this earth should have to deal with, and still – she carries that beautiful smile around with her wherever she goes and always looks for the positive in every situation.
6. She’s real. There is nothing pretentious about her and there’s never a hidden motive. She’s just sweet, beautiful, and always making everyone laugh – Tif.
7. I love how we are always on the same page. I love that I have a friend who I can call up and they’re thinking the same thing I’m thinking – all the time. From what we’re doing for the day, the mood we’re in that day, whatever it is – it seems like we’re always on the same page. I told my boys one morning that we’d go and see Megamind after school and I went to send Tiffany a text to find out if they’d like to meet us there; about the same time Tiffany called to see we’d like to see Megamind after school. Funny. And just as I went to grab a bag of popcorn and throw it in the microwave to take with us, she calls to tell me that she’d bring the popcorn and I’d bring the diet coke. And then we show up wearing purple shirts. That was random and insignificant, but I love that we area always on the same page! I drove home thinking to myself that I just loved that girl so much and I’m always in the BEST mood when we hang out.
8. I could go on and on. I just feel lucky that I have Tiffany as a cousin and I’m so grateful that we’re so close. I’m so happy that we’ve stuck to our plan that we made years and years ago. Ok, when we were about 10, and the plan went something like this: when we were grown-ups we’d marry brothers and live next door to each other and raise our kids together. So we didn’t marry brothers but our hubbies are awesome, so good-looking, athletic, and outgoing, they take such good care of us and absolutely love our boys… that they could be brothers  And we don’t live next door to each other but we see each so often that you could say we’re neighbors. Our boys are all the same age, all of them. And I love all 6 of these boys with all my heart. Tiffany is a gem and anyone who is lucky enough to know her would agree with me 100%. I don’t know what I’d do without her and I’m just a lucky girl to have a girl like this in my life. Love you little girl!!!
