Conversations with my little boys

Jordan: Mom, I only love you a little. But I'm coloring this grave-digger picture for my Daddy. Because I love him a lot. But I just love you a little. I don't really love girls. Because girls are funny. They have funny hair. Is your heart sad?
Me: Well, yes. Because you said you only love me a little :-(
Jordan: Well, I'm not giving you a Valentine's present.
Me: Oh, that makes me really sad!
Jordan: (as we sit down to work on his homework): I'm really tired of homework. Is this the very last one? (Ha! If he only knew...)

Austin: Be nice (with his sad eyes and pouty lip). And then he walks up and softly kicks me on the leg.
Me: What was that for??
Austin: Nice. Jor-in. Be Nice.
(He was telling me to be nice to Jordan because I had to get after Jordan)
Ahhh.. The joys of being a mom!

Cayden: Oh, I just love my little baby boy!! He just wants to be held 24/7, and the funny thing about it is: I love every minute of it. When he looks at me with those big bright eyes, I can't help myself. I reach down and pick him up and let him just lay on my chest. For most of the day.
And then when he wakes up at night, I jump out of bed and I really enjoy lying next to him.
He's my cuddle-bug and I just hope his sweetness doesn't fade.
I really do love all of my boys. Austin bonked his head earlier today (as he usually does, 4-5x's a day, at least!) And he whimpered and found his way into my lap, and just let me hold him for a while.
Jordan hopped in the car the other day with Jared and as I started to walk away he yelled out, "MOM, come over here!" So as the window rolled down he gave me the cutest smile and said, "Mom, I really love you. I'll sure miss you". Awww, I just live for those moments.

Happy New Year!

We finally took the Christmas Tree down (much sadness!), celebrated New Year's Eve, went to St. George for a few days, and now it's time to sit down and write down our New Year's resolutions, set some goals, and get ready to dive into this new year. We have a lot we want to do this year and I know it's going to be a great year. So here's what we've been up to so far:
New Year's Eve (Day)
Uncle Layne, Aunt Diane, and all the kids went bowling New Year's Day; it was fun to see everyone and Aunt Diane brought some bubblies so we could toast to the New Year:






New Year's Eve (Night)
We went out with Matt & Jeannie Machon to celebrate NYE and Jackson got to come over and have a "sleep over" at our house. We all went to dinner @ Tepanyaki Steakhouse and then we went out to celebrate the New Year (and we got to watch the countdown downtown) for the first time.



St. George
Right after the holidays we packed up and went to St. George. We really lucked out because Danny & Emily Kooyman were there, her sister and her family, and Tif/Coby and her family were there, too! I guess St. George was just the place to be :-)







Lunch @ Pirate Island Pizza
The boys went to play golf and so the girls decided to take the kids to Pirate Island Pizza, and we got to see Tiffany and her boys, too.

And of course, Jared took his newest little golfing buddy out one day to hit some balls. I've never seen such a cute pair! Jordan couldn't wait to play and he felt like one special kid that day.



And I took my other two boys on a long walk in the meantime.... it was a beautiful day.

We always exchange gifts with our very good friends, the Henry's. Right after the holidays we had Mike, Lisa, and their kids over for dinner and we had Christmas all over again.
