"Kid"

About a week or so ago, Jordan started calling me "Lanae". At first I thought it was cute and after a few days I had to start correcting him and told him that I was his mommy, and he needed to call me "Mom", not Lanae. So he gave me a very logical response to all of this; he said, "Well, your real name is Lanae, and my real name is Jordan. So if you want me to call you Mom, then you have to call me Kid, because I'm your kid." Very true! So for now Jordan is going by "Kid".

Here's my Kid at the sand dunes; I'll have to write and post more later on this...

Babies, Boys, Bowling, Bikes, and Boats...

So it's been a busy few weeks! First and foremost, I want to congratulate my brother and his wife for becoming new parents today!! I'm so excited for them and so happy that they welcomed a new baby girl into the world early this morning. Congratulations Kent and Carly!!!
Secondly, I just want to say how grateful I am to be a mom. Even though my days are spent chasing little boys around, managing little emotions, playing the judge on what's fair and not fair, who's in need of a spanking, who's in need of a hug, etc. etc. I really love being a mom and I couldn't have asked for a better calling in life! I love my boys...

Jordan has been wanting to go bowling for quite some time and so one morning before preschool we told him we could go after school. He was so excited! So after school we went down to Provo to run some errands and then went to Fat Cats. I think he's hooked.

Kirk, Stacey, Me, and Jared all went out for Sushi on the bikes. Motorcycles and Sushi - does it get any better than that? It was a fun date night :-)

We went to the lake with the Merish's last week and it was a beautiful day; glassy water and perfect weather. Jordan went in the tube with Dane and Kabe and all three boys were cracking up and telling us to go faster. So the minute Jordan let go of the tube we hit a big wave and he went flying out. I think it terrified him at first, but then the other boys were giving him high-fives and then he thought it was a pretty cool trick. Way to initiate the poor kid!

We were invited to a humanitarian fundraising event at the Robert Workman home (Roberts Crafts/Provo Craft). Beautiful home and very cool cars!
Here we are with our friends, the Shurians (and below - Thurl Bailey; he's much taller in person).

Park City: One of our family's favorite spots.

Midway: We went up to Swiss Days and it was cloudy and rainy on the way there, but the rain clouds passed by and it turned out to be an ok day. I love all of the arts/crafts and the kids found some bounce houses to play in. We ran into Jared's mom and dad at Swiss Days so the kids got to see G&G Larson for a while and then we went to the Bear Dance Cafe for lunch.

Wheeler Farms: We had a little play day at the park with Tiffany, Amber, and Aunt Laurie, Corbin, and little Jaden. I'm so glad we live so close and I love that our kids are buds. Such cute kiddos!

I had to take this one; I was at Wal-Mart today and my little Austin had been to the gym, went to lunch, and then we hit Wal-Mart. I guess he'd had enough for one day and he fell asleep sitting straight up. I'm a dork, I pulled out my camera for just a second to snap a quick shot; it was just too cute to pass up.

Say a little prayer...

Our Bishop and his wife were about 2 weeks away from having their first son (after 5 girls) and their little baby didn't make it. They've just been on my mind so much since yesterday and I know they could use the extra prayers.

Moms Beware!

Just had to send a message to all of you moms out there who are like me; I clip coupons... yes, I do! I shop at Wal-Mart... yes, I do! If there is one thing that Jared and I can't see eye to eye on, it's this: he HATES Wal-Mart, and I love Wal Mart. OK, so I grew up without much money and I went to college and had NO money, so I'm afraid I'll always have it in my blood to watch where the money goes. Sorry honey, but I'll always shop at Wal-Mart. BUT, for the first time I decided to try the Wal-Mart brand diapers and they SUCK. I'm sorry, but they really do. I've had to change Austin's wet, soggy pants for the 2nd time today (that is, he's soiled his pants 2 days in a row now). So no more WM diapers.
I do have a lot more to post but I just wanted to send out my warning to all of you cute moms out there who just might have the urge to buy those... DON'T.

Cayden

Happy 3 months old to my Cayden! He's been such a joy and I couldn't have asked for a more cuddly and happy little boy. He loves to be tickled right under his neck and if I nibble his little cheeks and neck I'll even get a giggle.
And this one is a mamma's boy (and I know why - I'm his only source of food!), so one out of three. I'd say my other two are daddy's boys. But I wrote this for my little Cayden:

Welcome to this world, Angel; welcome little one.
So tiny and so pure now, my beautiful little son.
I wish that I could capture every laugh and every smile;
I'd hold on to every moment and freeze time for just a while.
I thank my Heavenly Father for trusting me with you.
I hope that he can help me, guide and teach you truth.
I know that you were by his side, and now you are by mine.
Heavenly Father help me raise him to return back when it’s his time.
How lucky I am to be called “Mom", and how inadequate I feel.
When I know that I’m his life-line to this earth beyond the veil.
Heavenly Father help me, and know that I will try..
My best to love and teach your angel, and now my baby boy.
I love you little Cayden.
Love, your mom.
