I love his laugh; I love running my fingers through his hair when we're sitting on the couch watching TV. I love when we're driving in the car and out of the blue he'll say, "Mom, I love you". Even though he loves his daddy so much more (and he's not afraid to tell me this!). I know he and I have a special thing and he's my little buddy. I've love being this sweet little boy's mommy and I'm so grateful that I've been given the opportunity to raise him.
Jordan was our special boy all day and so we started the day with breakfast in bed:
He really wanted to have his birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese this year so here we are celebrating Jordan's big day:
Grandma Larson wanted to take Jordan out for his birthday on a "birthday date"; he was very excited about this and he usually doesn't get one-on-one time with Grandma, so this was a fun day for him. They went to the movies and saw the "Meatball" movie, went to the $ store and bought some treats, and then she took him to her house and made him some mac-n-cheese. He had a great time.
And being that Jordan is now five... he was due for his 5-year Dr. visit. He was having so much fun getting tested. I told him that all super heroes have to have their blood, heart, ears, and eyes tested. SO ... he was having such a great time.
I just couldn't bring myself to tell him the news that he'd be getting shots. Is that mean??? I didn't know if it would be harder on him to anticipate getting shots or if I should just lure him in and let the nurse do her thing. So I chose plan B. We were talking about the stuff on the walls and then, whammo - 1,2,3,4 shots - and he was SO mad! That mean nurse!
Jordan was upset, and a few minutes earlier Austin collided heads with Cayden as he was doing his monkey moves in the Dr's office. He was trying to climb up on the table to be with Jordan and fell and knocked Cayden down. So now, with three unhappy children, we left the Dr's office. Once again, I looked like one of "those moms" - you know... the crazy mom with two kids in arms and one trailing behind in tears. Not a fun day at the Dr's.
And here's a side-note on Austin. He keeps pulling down his pants and likes to sit on the potty. So, a few days ago I decided I'd let him roam around freely with no pants. He went potty all day long! So here's Austin - Day ONE of potty training! So far, so good:
Yeah, I know that's gross. But for me - this is better than Christmas! After changing poop for 5 straight years this is the best thing; not that I'm out of the woods by any stretch, but 2 out of 3 boys out of diapers, not bad!!!
And we're not there yet, but it looks like we'll be there soon.
Good stuff. Good night, it's 12:15 and I'm out :-)

Happy Birthday Jordan & congrats on the potty training!
They grow up so fast! Wish we could have come! Sakura loves Chuck E Cheese and little boys. :) She would have had a blast with her cousins.
You are such a fun Mom! He is a darling boy too. Sorry about the Dr. office...no fun there! I opt for plan B too. In a year or two it won't phase him when it's time for shots. Congrats on the potty training that is huge!
5 years????!!! Where has the time gone??!! SO fun! You are such a cute mom. I love that you made him a fancy breakfast in bed. I remember you do that for me when we were roomies! SO cute! Corbin had such a ball. He just LOVES jordan! So glad our boys are buds.
LOVE that picture of Austin...he may kill you when he's older for posting it for the world to see! But I think it's CLASSIC! :)
