A few months ago Jared was tucking Jordan in for the night and he said, "We'll always be best buddies; we're going to have fun all throughout our lives". I'll be driving around and out of the blue Jordan will pipe up and say, "Mom, dad's my best buddy - wanna know why?" ... "Why" ... and he'll tell me, "Because my daddy told me that we're going to have fun all throughout my life". So that's the goal, we're going to have fun all throughout our lives. I'm sure trying; some days we do have lots of fun, and I feel like I have all the energy in the world. Other days, by about 10:00 PM my body just wants to melt into bed because I'm so tired. But I know these years are going by so fast so I really want to do as much, see as much, play as much as we possibly can. Silly, I know - but I'm going to miss these early years once they're gone.
Here's some of our whereabouts lately:
Earth Day @ Draper Park:
Zoo Day:
We went up to Salt Lake to see Wendy (aka: Aunt Wee, whom my by boys love and adore!) and it was a sunny day so we went on down the road to the Zoo. The day started early for the boys (preschool, the Nest, Smiths to buy some goodies, ... no time for naps - so Austin packed in a quick nap on the go):
Hogle Zoo:
Little Austin... this child has a bladder the size of a small pea. We did the polite thing and we hit every bathroom in sight, but when you have to go, you just have to go, right???
Bobby's Birthday Party (one of Jordan's little friends):
Riding the "Choo-Choo" at SouthTowne:
"How to Train a Dragon"
I took the boys to see this movie @ Thanksgiving Point and Jennifer & Valerie met us down there. I thought since it wasn't the opening day... and it was in the middle of the day... there would be plenty of empty seats. Not so! There were three seats on the front row (claimed by Jordan, Valerie, & Austin) and two seats quite a ways back that Jennifer and I took.
The baby started to get irritated about 1/2 way through the movie so I ended up on the floor by the three kids and the baby, a spilled drink and spilled popcorn all around. But the kids LOVED the movie and now Jordan wants to own a Dragon like Toothless.
My Little Artists:
Draper Library on a Rainy Day:
Austin, caught in action...
Jordan & Austin; these boys love their dad!
Draper Park
My cuties, sound asleep!
Planetarium Day!
Today Jordan's preschool had a field trip at the Clark Planetarium @ the Gateway. He's been SO excited about this fieldtrip; we've checked out some books about planets, he's been drawing planets, we even had "Earth" pancakes for breakfast this morning.
It was a fun day for me, too; I never get one-on-one time with Jordan and so this morning Jared (hugs, kisses, loves to Jared!) took the two little boys and let me ride Trax with Jordan so we could spend the morning together. We made some friends on the train ride, and we took lots of pictures of ourselves making funny faces. Hey, it was his idea :-) I'm glad I got to go on a "date" with my little boy.
Jared met us up there with the Austin and Cayden, and Jeannie and Jackson met us there, too. We watched a cool movie about a rocket that travels through the universe and visits each planet. What a fun place! After the Planetarium we all went down the street to Jason's Deli and had lunch (and ice-cream, of course).
Oh, what a busy day!
AND:
Dinner with Amy at the Olive Garden:
A bunch of girls from my old ward/neighborhood got together to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Amy's baby boy. There are few people I know who deserve a straight ticket to Heaven, and Amy is one of them. She's amazing. Good luck to Amy, tomorrow is the day I believe...
