Escalante

Last weekend Jared's folks invited us to go down to Escalante with them and we had a great time; we went on an all-day ATV trip one day, hiked all day the following day, and drive the scenic route (through Bryce Canyon) on the way home.
On the road... heading down to Escalante:

ATV Trail
We started the day early and met a group of Jared's parents' friends at the head of the trail. It was a bit chilly in the morning, but it warmed up later in the day.

Back at the Cabin
The cabin was such a fun place! There were dirt trails all around the cabin so we rode the 4-wheeler around and around, Jared rode his dirt bike, the kids played in the rocks and in the dirt, and Jordan got to try out his new kite that he got for his birthday. This was such a fun place and I'm glad that we were able to go.

Hike up to Calf Creek
Jared's mom offered to watch the older kids so we could go on a hike (babies had to come with), but I'm so glad we went. This was not the most stroller-friendly trail and there some tough spots that we had to push, carry, lift our strollers, but it was a beautiful day and we couldn't have asked for better weather.

While we were gone, the kids had a busy day playing and going to the park.. so busy that they didn't last very long after we all got home. Jordan crashed soon after we got home, and Austin made it for a few minutes in the car on our way to dinner... so we made a nice little bed for him at the restaurant. Tired little boys!

Bryce Canyon
We took a long, scenic ride home. I've seen pictures of Bryce Canyon, but it was so much more breathtaking in person. Absolutely gorgeous!!

How wonderful...a cabin. However it didn't look as windy there! Fun times!
